So Eve in the latest issue of GIANT magazine claims that for her, the death of hip hop began with D4L's "Laffy Taffy" - Scroll to the very bottom

Now I won't say I particularly adored "Laffy Taffy" when it came out, I for one hated it just for the simple fact I felt the mix was terrible yet radio allowed it, that plus the bubble-gumminess of it all. But for Eve to blame the death of hip hop on a song by D4L? Sheesh. I mean its not like Eve has been putting out mind-boggling classic songs or is even anywhere near legendary as far as hip hop is concerned to begin to make this claim...what's the difference btw a Who's that girl? and a Betcha can't do it like me?

If L.Boogie had made this claim I could see why, If Apani B had made this claim ok, If Jean Grae had made this claim I'd even understand, but E.V.E? are you kidding me?

The irony of it all is if his album does get pushed back. 'Cos it'll be really interesting to see/know how or what kind of power Jay-Z REALLY does have. Is it just a figure-head position? Is it a REAL CEO position. 'Cos folk from the Roots, Joe Budden, to Meth, to LL have all complained as if Jay has somehow held their projects back.
