SENSELESS VIOLENCE

First off and most importantly, May God comfort the families, friends and well-wishers of those who lost their lives to senseless violence in Jesus' Name Amen.

Times like these everyone looks for someone to blame. Hip hop won't work (at least not yet since nothing has been found to positively ID him), if he's truly Asian as some reports claimed he was, international students? Folks are already clamoring on various channels ala CNN, MSNBC about gun control laws. I'm not for or against gun control per se, 'cos I believe ppl ought to be able to defend themselves and at the same time I don't want folk shooting at me with AK-47's just for kicks..

With all that being said, the response time to the shootings is what gave me the most "headache."

7:15 am - Shooting begins, 911 call
9:20 am - School sends out email

WthebleedingHECK?!

No close/shut down to contain the disaster? This is where logic lost...Steger stayed trying to give us the mental run around as well as did the police chief like they KNEW something we ourselves didn't know..and ended up looking clueless.

My take:

- Instead of always reacting to things, how about putting up some infrastructure that will help reaction time?

Someone on a msg board suggested texts to mobile phones which imo, will be a quicker way of dispensing info as in one class at least 2-10 ppl will have their cell phones on and maybe on vibrate too.

Didntchaknow? Hip Hop caused genocide in Sudan...

Imus and every other closet racist are IDIOTS plain and simple.

"I may be a white man, but I know that young black women all through that society are demeaned and disparaged and disrespected by their own black men and that they are called that name. I didn't invent the phrase...the phrase was invented in the black community."

In a startling turn of events, above is what the man had to say concerning his recent (typical) outburst concerning the good women of the Rutgers basketball team. Not that anyone is surprised esp. black folks however this new "blame-it-on-hip-hop" nonsense people use as a crutch to justify their idiocy is beyond me.

He (Imus) even refers to black women in that society LOL. Like our societies all of a sudden are different. Even in apology his bigotry shows.

The music hasn't even been around for more than 3 decades and yet its catching all this flack. I will of course agree that mainstream hip hop hasn't at all properly represented our communities both black and brown, neither is the bulk of it something to be proud of but how do two wrongs make a right?

Own up to your bigotry and quit blaming it on another entity that isn't responsible for the origins of misogyny. The truth of the matter is this country has always been prejudiced towards minorities, whether women, blacks, asians, native americans, gay etc. This is no different. I'm not surprised at his remarks for even the Bible says that, "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh." No, not at all. What bothers me however is this new style crutch of blaming everything on hip hop.

What's next? John Kennedy got killed because of hip hop?

idiots.
